To all:
Jeff and I went to the Horizon Development to renew our current lease and drop off the insurance papers. We are meeting with there Board on 7-9-2009 to discuss a long term lease. I'm sure that most of us are in agreement that a year to year lease is not in out best interest. We've been down that road and its put us in our current position. On 6-17-2009 I have a meeting with the El Paso Parks and Rec. to see just what it would take to get the city to build a facility here for everyone's use. This is common practice in cities allot smaller than ours. I don't see why we should not explore every possible venue to achieve our goal of a premiere flying site in El Paso. We received our grant from the AMA in the amount of $5000.00 toward our field construction. I'm awaiting a response from Steven Silver as far as how his efforts are going securing funds. I figured that since there have been a few developments since our last meeting and our next isn't till the second week of July I would take a second and update you on our progress, Things are moving along but at a slow pace. Sure we could drain the clubs funds and move a bunch of dirt around but then what? We have a few decisions to make over the next few months on how we will proceed. I will ask one thing If you have a question or a opinion on any of this please feel free and ask. We have always encouraged everyone's participation and value all input. If you don't attend the meetings and don't attend the events then your not supporting the effort. I'm very proud of the efforts that the Board and many of you have shown and thank you. The next newsletter will be out soon. Think about a possible contribution to that. It just takes a second and makes Glenn's job a bit easier looking for content.
